Do you like to live on the edge? Are you accustomed to being repeatedly abused and taken advantage of? Do you like being "that guy" at the party who always seems to be up on the latest new tech, product features, or bugs and fixes?
If you fit into any of those categories then you are ready to move away from a dreary life of safety and security. Be a risk-taker! At least in this instance, you're not jumping from a plane in a Wingsuit, illegally BASE jumping from bridge or building. When something crashes, you'll still get to see your family instead of being a mangled corpse.
Head on over to the Chromium Dev Channel and see what the team is working on before it hits the general public. You can even dial up or down your level of pain. For those moderate risk-takers and just want a little "taste" (the first one's always free ;), choose the Beta channel.
Once you've had your fill of the divine goodness of the Beta channel, you can up the volume by slipping on over to the Dev Channel. Here you get to a little glimpse into how the sausage gets made without actually standing next to the machines. Sometimes thinks break, and break badly. You may even see a feature come and go, never to return.
For those of you who actually BASE jump and/or fly wingsuits, then the Canary build is for you. This build is so fresh and new that even we don't know what's going to happen if you run it. For all we know it will rip open a hole in space-time and suck you and the surrounding area into the void. The Chrome team has also been known to explicitly drop a little extra something into those builds just to see the looks on people's faces. The good news here is that the Canary build doesn't share configurations and settings from your other Chrome builds. You can install Canary alongside your normal (Beta, Dev or Stable(for the boring people) ) Chrome installs. This way you can psych yourself up before you head out into the gaping abyss. Once you've had all you can stand, you can go back to Sanitysville.
So if you want to win friends, be the life of the next party, or just have an odd streak of sadomasochism, feel free to try any of the above options. Oh, and if you decide to take the plunge, feel free to report anything you find particularly painful or dissatisfying on the Chromium bug tracker.
